This is
a nice example of an affordable 1950's jukebox that is ready
to Rock and Roll! It is a 120 select Rock-Ola with a rather
attractive Wico title rack conversion that gives it a nicely
balanced appearance. It retains the original chrome which is
in good order, it has a new set of buttons and the cabinet has
been refinished in a mid-blue colour. It plays well and has
a solid beefy jukebox sound and it won't break the bank.
Price £4450.

This is a nicely restored 1458 made in 1958
. Playing 120 selections on 45 rpm it is also known as 'The Gene
Vincent' jukebox as it appeared on an album cover with the star.
A fascinating mechanism allied with the archetypal 50's green
and turquoise colour scheme makes this a very attractive
jukebox.

This is a superb fully restored Wurlitzer
Centennial, made in 1956 it was Wurlitzer's first 200 selection
Jukebox and coincidentally celebrated the company's 100 anniversary.
This is THE no 1 collectable Jukebox today; it has all the elements
of the classic fifties style, with a strong influence from the
chrome-laden cars of the same era. The wrap around glass screen
shows off the records in full view, and the Wurlitzer mechanism
is fascinating to watch as it plays the record in the vertical
position right on centre stage. To give the patrons a better
view the Wurlitzer engineers went to great lengths designing
a set of turning page assemblies either side of the main title
board area. At the push of a button the pages turn to reveal
the title strips, a unique feature that was not only expensive
to produce but also tricky for the operators to maintain.
The side pilasters are made of glass and the coloured light
shields cast a green and red glow across the pierced metal grille.
Behind this grille are the five speakers that give this Jukebox
it's punchy full range sound, there are 3x 12 " bass speakers
and two tweeters, powered by a rebuilt valve amplifier using
2x 6l6 outputs this Jukebox rocks!
Dimensions are 55 5/8" tall, 27 7/8" deep and 33 11/16"
wide, it is mounted on 4 rubber castors so it is simple to move
around.
Price £10950.

Made by
the Aerion corporation in Kansas City in the U.S.A. this must
be one of the more unusual jukeboxes to appear in the forties.
The cabinet design was definitely looking forward to the next
decade but the robust and novel mechanism was firmly fixed in
the forties! Fascinating to watch it is a pity that the record
changer is not on show but hidden behind the colour animation
in the front doors. Restored and playing well a real gem.

Designed
in the age when the first Sputnik was launched into space the
A.M.I. team were also looking to the stars. The Continental
was a radical departure from the 'normal' jukebox design school.
With its wrap around title strip holder hovering seductively
over a space bubble that displays the record changer this is a
jukebox that just grabs your attention. This example is totally
original and will be re-commissioned to give a solid sounding
jukebox that will be reliable but retaining the lovely original
features.
Price £5700.

Here is superb example of one of the most
popular jukeboxes available, it is an AMI model H 200 made by A.M.I who were based in Grand Rapids, Michigan U.S.A.
Playing 200 selections on 45 rpm it has a fabulous sound, and
the original sales brochure extols the virtue of the effectiveness
of the multiple exponential horns driven by the high output
amplifier.
With the wrap-around heavy glass screen giving a fine view of
the record changing mechanism and the liberal use of chrome
this is a 'must have' jukebox.
Price £8750.

A very smart example of a Bal-AMI model
I200 jukebox. These machines were assembled in the UK after
the War to satisfy the huge demand for music and comply with
the import restrictions which were in place at that time.
Retaining the original cabinet finish, screen and top flash
this jukebox has had the chrome re-plated, amplifier rebuilt,
mechanism overhauled and now plays reliably with the
true big jukebox sound.

Made in Chicago a striking and unusual
jukebox. Very hard to find especially in such good condition
as this one. Playing 30 selections on 78rpm this made it one
of the jukeboxes with highest number of selections in it's
time. Filben were dogged by law suits and they were
eventually forced out of business in 1949, at the moment the
known production figures for this machine are just 896 (compare
this with the 65000 Wurlitzer 1015s!). Please click on the
photo for more details

Made in 1974 this was Wurlitzer's
swansong, with a production run of only 2000 this was the company's
nostalgic look back at the 40's .It was a disaster as being
very expensive to produce and the use of new solid state technology
giving problems sent the company into bankruptcy.
Now it is one of THE most collectible machines
as it combines the beauty of the forties jukeboxes with the
performance and usability of a modern 45 player. The machine
pictured is in beautiful original condition, fully checked
over it is ready to Rock and Roll!
